Community

Located just 30km from downtown Ottawa, and easily accessible from the 416, the Village of Richmond offers a welcoming small town experience within city limits while being minutes away from major shopping centres in Kanata, Stittsville, and Barrhaven. The Village boasts all necessary amenities and is surrounded by green space and nature trails. In addition to bordering the Jock River, the Rideau Trail passes through Richmond on its way from Kingston to Ottawa. It’s part of the Trans Canada Trail and provides walking, cycling and ski trails.

Richmond celebrated its 200th anniversary in 2018, and is the oldest community within the City of Ottawa. For 171 years the Richmond Fair has showcased everything from agricultural exhibits to live musical performances. Throughout the year the fair grounds are used for several community events.
